Flowers for me? My lucky day!

What's happening in Toronto

Can you believe this weather we’ve been having lately?! Who would have guessed that it would be 10 degrees celsius in January and February. I can’t help but think that this may be the calm before the storm and we’re really in for it in March and possibly into April. But hey, for now I’ll just say “this is fabulous!” and enjoy the great weather.

So, since we’re not freezing our Canadian tails off right now, there’s no excuse to stay cooped up in your home. There’s lots happening in Toronto right now, so get on out there and check out what’s going on in this awesome city of ours. Here are a few events

Holiday Greetings

With just a few days until the holidays, I wanted to take a minute to thank you all for an incredible 2011. I’ve met many wonderful people and am blessed to have caring family and friends who support me both professionally and personally. I hope you have the same in your life.

Also, thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog. I hope you find it useful and I would love to hear from you regarding any questions/comments you have - all feedback is truly welcomed and appreciated.

On a closing note, take time this holiday season to enjoy time spent with friends and loved ones. At the risk of sounding cliche, I encourage you to revel in eating, drinking and being merry - have fun living in the moment and soaking up all that life has to offer.

Wishing you and yours a very Happy Holiday season filled with happiness and a joyous New Year.

All the best,

Getting a home evaluation

Are you thinking about selling your home? If so, one of the most important things you can do before listing your home is to get a proper home appraisal. This information is critical in the mortgage lending process as it can affect the amount of mortgage you can secure for your next home. If your home has a healthy appraisal value, you’re a much more appealing candidate for a mortgage.

The value of family

Ok folks, this is where I get a bit mushy. With Christmas on the horizon and family gatherings being planned, this time of year makes me reminisce about family memories and traditions. Family and friends are very important to me, and while we should be showing our loved ones how appreciative we are of them year-round, there’s just something about Christmas that brings out the love. On the flip side, I imagine that for some, Christmas events with the family can make you a bit nutty, but I’d like to take a non-Grinchy approach here and look at the bright side.

Being a realtor, I have the privilege of helping my clients find a home that’s perfect for them. A home that will be the backdrop to many a birthday party, Thanksgiving dinners or Friday family game nights. Your home plays a vital role in creating family memories and I love the fact that I can have even the teeniest bit of involvement in helping you find the perfect home where these memories take place.

Feeling festive? Let’s talk Christmas decorating

Can you believe that Christmas is less than a month away? We’ve been spoiled with all the mild weather we’ve been getting in November, which is perhaps why Christmas still feels like it’s pretty far off. But only 26 more shopping days left, my friends! With Christmas fast approaching, it’s also a great time to start thinking about both indoor and outdoor decorating (if that’s your thing, of course).

Over the years, I’ve come across many beautifully decorated homes, but there’s something about Christmas decor that conjures up feelings of coziness, warmth and family. Whether it’s a stunningly designed Christmas tree with colour-coordinated ornaments, lights and ribbons, or a kid-friendly tree with handmade ornaments from Christmases past, the possibilities are endless and you’re only limited by your imagination. If you’re looking to get inspired this year, I’ve compiled a few of my favourite ideas. Take a look:

Travel Spotlight: The beautiful island of St. Maarten

Now that the days are getting chillier and the arrival of snow is imminent over the next few months, perhaps you’re thinking of jetting off to warmer climates? Who doesn’t love a relaxing, Caribbean vacation to break up a long, Canadian winter? With that in mind, I wanted to do a travel spotlight this week on what I think is a great vacation spot, for both couples and families - the beautiful island of Sint Maarten/St. Martin.
